Edgewood
New Mexico

On Saturday, August 28th, thirteen NM Section members enjoyed Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood.  Prior to the raptor show and chuckwagon supper we had plenty of time to walk through the zoo and see the rescued animals in their enclosures ... particular favorites were the bear, the grey foxes and the racoons.  The grey foxes and racoons were draped in the upper branches of the trees in their enclosures having a proper nap.  They seemed not to mind being the focus of so much attention.  During dinner, the Watermelon Mountain Jug Band entertained us, playing some toe-tapping bluegrass music.  Photos of NM Section members weren't possible as everyone scattered among the animal exhibits upon entering the park.  The evening ended with one of New Mexico's local thunderstorms as a final light show!!
