Thirty-six New Mexico Section members gathered at world-renowned Gruet Winery in Albuquerque, New Mexico the morning of July 23rd for hors d'oeuvres, brunch with a mimosa bar, and a Mercedes Benz car show. By a wide margin, members awarded Section Secretary, Paul Phipps' masterfully repainted 1966 230SL First Place. Darrel Gustin's W124 500E, the rare and now highly sought after sport sedan, resulting from a late 1980s Daimler-Porsche collaboration, took Second Place. Third Place went to Andrew Schultz's 220S, a fine example of Heckflosse-era S-Class with brightwork in remarkable condition. Special thanks to Mercedes Benz of Albuquerque for furnishing door prizes and an example of the beautiful and technology-laden W213 E-Class for display at the event.
